Vedanta Limited is a diversified natural resources company that explores, extracts, and processes minerals and oil and gas in India and abroad. It operates seven segments: Copper, Aluminium, Iron Ore, Power, Zinc India, Zinc International, Oil & Gas and Others. The group produces oil and gas, zinc, lead, silver, copper, aluminium, steel, pig iron, chrome ores and coke, and runs coal-fired power plants totaling about 6,000 MW plus wind power. It also manufactures billets, TMT bars, wire rods, ductile iron pipes, and provides port services at Visakhapatnam. Formerly Sesa Sterlite; renamed Vedanta Limited in 2015; founded 1954; headquartered in Mumbai.
