Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fimmer (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use fimmer.com and related services (the “Service”).

It is written to match how Fimmer actually works today. It is not legal advice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Who we are

Fimmer provides news clusters, coverage links, and scores (including significance, sentiment, ESG pillars, sustainability, and impact scores) for public companies. You can browse much of this without an account. Paid features may include a personalised feed, saved articles, watchlists, trends, activity, and RSS access.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect the details you provide, typically email address, name, and password (stored in hashed form by our auth provider). You may later change email or password from account settings.

If you subscribe or buy a lifetime plan, our payment processor collects billing details. We receive membership status, plan, billing interval, and related Stripe identifiers. We do not store full card numbers on Fimmer.

How you use Fimmer

Depending on the features you use, we store:

  • Watchlist companies
  • Saved articles and related score snapshots
  • Notification preferences
  • RSS feed tokens if you enable read-anywhere access
  • Referral or affiliate codes if you use a referral programme

We also keep technical logs needed to run the Service (for example sign-in events, checkout errors, and function errors).

Information you send us

If you contact support, report a bug, or leave feedback (including through our feedback board), we receive the content you submit and any contact details you include.

Information from news and markets

Company pages, news clusters, scores, logos, and market datapoints come from third-party sources and our own processing. That content is about public companies, not about you as an individual, except where you choose to follow or save it.

Cookies and similar storage

We use cookies and local or session storage to keep you signed in, remember UI choices, and operate checkout. We do not use this to sell advertising profiles of visitors.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate you and protect accounts
  • Personalise feeds, watchlists, saved items, and summaries
  • Process payments, refunds, plan changes, and the customer billing portal
  • Send transactional mail (for example sign-in, email verification, or billing)
  • Respond to support and feedback
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information.

Processors and other services

We use vendors to operate Fimmer. They only receive what they need to perform their role:

  • Hosting and delivery of the website
  • Database and authentication for accounts and saved data
  • Payments (Stripe) for checkout, subscriptions, lifetime purchases, and billing portal
  • Feedback / bug reporting if you use those boards
  • Referral tracking if you join or use an affiliate programme

Those providers have their own privacy policies.

Sharing

We share personal information when:

  • You ask us to (for example opening Stripe’s billing portal)
  • A processor needs it to run the Service
  • We must do so by law, or to protect Fimmer, our users, or the public
  • We transfer the Service as part of a reorganisation or sale (your information would remain subject to this policy or a successor policy)

Public company news, scores, and similar content may be shown to anyone using the Service. Your watchlist and saved articles are not published as a public profile.

Scores, news, and not financial advice

Fimmer scores and summaries are generated from coverage and models. They can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. They are general information, not personal data about you, and not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is open. After you delete your account we remove or de-identify personal data we control, except records we must keep for billing, security, or law (for example payment history held by Stripe). Backups may lag deletion by a short period.

Your choices

You can:

  • Access and update name, email, password, and notification settings in your account
  • Remove companies from a watchlist and unsave articles
  • Manage or cancel a subscription through the billing portal where available
  • Delete your account from settings (this is permanent)
  • Email contact@fimmer.com to ask what we hold or to request correction or deletion

If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (for example GDPR or CCPA), we will honour applicable requests. We do not currently use your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Children

Fimmer is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

International processing

We and our processors may process data in Australia, the United States, the European Union, and other countries where our vendors operate. If you use Fimmer from another country, you understand that information may be processed outside your home jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date on this page will change. Material changes may also be noted in the product or by email to the address on your account. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
