Sjóvá-Almennar tryggingar hf. is an Iceland-based insurer offering property, casualty and life coverage. Its products include medical expenses, income protection, workers’ compensation, motor liability, marine, aviation and transport, fire and general liability, as well as credit and suretyship insurance. It also insures businesses across industries such as fishing, tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, retail and services. Founded in 1918 and headquartered in Reykjavík, it was renamed in 1989 from Sjóvátryggingarfélag Íslands hf.
