Novanta Inc. and its subsidiaries provide precision medicine, precision manufacturing, medical solutions, robotics and automation, and advanced surgery technologies globally. It operates two segments: Automation Enabling Technologies and Medical Solutions. The Precision Medicine and Manufacturing segment designs and markets laser beam steering, laser sources, robotic and precision motion, end-of-arm tooling, and bearing spindles for industrial, medical robotics, and ophthalmology procedures. The Medical Solutions segment offers medical-grade devices, including insufflators, pumps and disposables, imaging, RFID, motion control, light engines, and integrated operating room technologies. Formerly GSI Group, Inc., it was renamed Novanta in May 2016, and was incorporated in 1968, based in Bedford, Massachusetts.
