Matador Resources Company is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in the United States. It operates two segments: Exploration and Production, and Midstream. Core assets include Wolfcamp and Bone Spring in the Delaware Basin and Haynesville and Cotton Valley in Northwest Louisiana. It provides midstream services, gas processing, transportation, gathering, produced water disposal, and sells gas to unaffiliated marketers. Based in Dallas, Texas, it was incorporated in 2003 and renamed Matador Resources Company in 2011.
