COMGÁS is a Brazilian piped natural gas distributor whose concession covers about 180 municipalities in São Paulo and the Greater São Paulo area. It serves industrial, residential, commercial, automotive, thermoelectric and cogeneration markets. Founded in 1872 and headquartered in São Paulo, it was renamed from Companhia Municipal de Gás to Companhia de Gás de São Paulo – COMGÁS in 1974. It is a subsidiary of Compass Gas e Energia S.A.
