Vedanta commissions portable rig for gold and critical mineral exploration in India

Vedanta Ltd says it commissioned a high-speed hydrostatic portable rig for mineral exploration, deploying it at two projects in Chhattisgarh targeting gold and critical minerals including nickel, chromium and PGM. The rig can drill up to 1,000 metres and cut equipment move times. Vedanta also secured 10 critical mineral blocks and ties the work to its Vedanta 2.0 expansion for clean-energy supply chains.
