Vedanta Limited has commissioned India’s first high-speed hydrostatic portable drilling rig and deployed it at two gold and critical-minerals exploration sites in Chhattisgarh. The pressurised-fluid system is designed for smoother control and deeper drilling in remote terrain. The move supports Vedanta’s expansion after securing 10 critical mineral blocks via government auctions, including nickel, chromium and platinum-group elements.
