Vår Energi awards $518m contract for Deepsea Bergen rig deployment

Odfjell Drilling received a letter of award from Vår Energi to deploy the Deepsea Bergen rig, with an estimated contract value of $518m (Nkr4.81bn). The value includes mobilisation fees but excludes escalation, integrated services, bonuses and fuel incentives, and extends the firm contract backlog to Q1 2031. The rig is built to CS 60 E harsh-environment specs, and in December 2025 Odfjell acquired Deepsea Bollsta and novated its contract from Equinor.
