Zydus Lifesciences reported positive topline results from its completed 52-week EVIDENCES-X Phase IIb trial of Saroglitazar Magnesium in MASH patients, using liver biopsies to assess outcomes. The study met its primary endpoint of resolution of steatohepatitis without worsening fibrosis and showed improvements in steatosis, inflammation and ballooning, with further data planned for presentation at a Liver Congress and publication. Saroglitazar Mg was approved by India’s regulator in 2020.
