Zuckerberg Apologizes as Meta Admits Paying to Boost Illegal Content
Mark Zuckerberg apologized for child sexual abuse material, deepfake content and operational errors after Meta met India’s IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following a government summons over the temporary removal of a Prime Minister Narendra Modi video. The government said Meta is not covered as an intermediary and safe harbour may not apply. Meta admitted paying to boost certain content and that illegal material was promoted, with further calls expected.
