An investigation by Vanderbilt, Northeastern, and UC Berkeley tested nine workplace monitoring platforms and found every one shared identifying worker data such as names and emails with outside parties, including Facebook, across 121 documented instances. The apps also sent online activity and device or browsing data to 145 third-party domains, including Yandex, raising privacy concerns for workers.
