Workers United calls nationwide Starbucks boycott over stalled contract talks

Workers United, representing more than 12,000 Starbucks baristas, began a nationwide boycott on Aug. 25, saying stalled bargaining left none of 700-plus unionized company stores in North America with a contract since 2021. The action covers company-owned stores nationwide with no set end date. Starbucks says it is committed to bargaining and cites pay, benefits, low turnover, and applicant volume; more than 550 unfair labor practice charges are pending.
