An employee at Caterpillar’s Mapleton Foundry was injured Tuesday morning when a piece of equipment fell on him. The sheriff said injuries were non-life-threatening but may result in loss of a finger. Caterpillar said it is focused on the employee’s care and safety for workers and visitors. The facility has previously seen multiple deaths and an OSHA citation for a contractor in 2021.
