Wisconsin DNR asks Enbridge to halt Line 5 reroute after spill
Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources asked Enbridge to stop work on a Line 5 re-routing project after a liquefied natural gas liquids spill near Saxon prompted a local evacuation. Enbridge said the spill released about 31,000 barrels of propane and butane, with about 2,000 barrels contained, and crews used trailer flare stacks to remove remaining vapors after a third-party line strike. The agency cited prior noncompliance and requested written answers.
