State attorneys in federal court in Oakland questioned Meta’s former safety engineer Arturo Béjar, who testified for a second day that internal studies showed teens faced harms on Facebook and Instagram. He said platforms’ design choices, including infinite scrolling and engagement prompts, served user retention. Béjar disputed Mark Zuckerberg’s denials that Meta puts profit over wellbeing.
