Wendy’s U.S. traffic falls 12.5% as turnaround targets value, quality
Wendy’s is responding to a sharp demand slowdown as new leadership pursues a broad turnaround. U.S. traffic fell 12.5% in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, contributing to a 7% drop in U.S. same-restaurant sales, though customer satisfaction improved and company-operated restaurants outperformed the wider system by 280 bps. The five-point reset targets menu and value, branding, operations, digital engagement and restaurant economics, with pressure expected to continue into fiscal 2026.
