Volkswagen workers criticize board communication amid restructuring

An online survey by Volkswagen’s group works council says employees and their families feel unsettled and frightened by the board’s public messaging. They worry about job security, early-retirement and severance and the future of plants in Emden, Hanover, Neckarsulm, Osnabrück and Zwickau. CEO Oliver Blume said four plants are not expected to reach competitive capacity in the 2030s, while no closure decisions are made.
