Visa Finds 31% of Homeowners Aged 80+ Still Paying Mortgages
Visa’s analysis of baby boomers’ expected wealth transfer found that even among homeowners aged 80 and older, 31% are still making mortgage payments, up from 3% in 1989. Boomers hold an estimated $93 trillion in assets, but debt, retirement costs and taxes reduce inheritances. The company also points to real-estate access models and Arrived Homes, backed by Jeff Bezos.
