Visa and Mastercard process first international card payments in Syria
Visa and Mastercard processed their first international payment card transactions in Syria as the country reconnects to the global payments system. The shift follows the US move to remove Syria from its state sponsors of terrorism list. QNB Syria and Mastercard completed the first POS sale, while Visa ran its first live cross-border test with Fransabank Lebanon, marking the start of card acceptance services, the Central Bank said.
