Verizon’s fiber growth outpaces fixed wireless customer demand decline
Churn improvement followed Verizon’s shift away from price increases that don’t add value, alongside new Simplicity and Verizon One lower-priced wireless plans and a loyalty rewards program. Still, demand weakened for fixed wireless access internet: Verizon added 193,000 customers in Q2, 30.6% fewer than in 2025. CEO Dan Schulman attributed the shift to rapid fiber expansion, with 155,000 new fiber customers and growth toward 32 million home passings by year-end.
