Vale expands AI and automation with ABB across Brazil iron ore plants

After deploying the Conceição II Model Plant at Itabira in Minas Gerais, Vale is extending its automation, artificial intelligence and digitalization across iron ore operations in Brazil. The ABB-backed rollout—already underway at Brucutu—uses thousands of sensors to monitor 400+ processing variables in real time, enabling automatic optimization. Vale also expands immersive training and simulators to improve safety and performance, quality and productivity.
