U.S. sues Amazon over alleged overcharging in ad auctions
Federal regulators and 22 state attorneys general sued Amazon, alleging it secretly and systematically overcharged advertisers and rigged its ad-auction process to misrepresent competition and deprive customers of fair dealing. The case is the third major regulator action, following a $2.5 billion Prime settlement and other FTC matters involving Alexa and Ring, as advertising revenue rises fast.
