US and Canadian court data breach hits Thomson Reuters platform

Thomson Reuters disclosed that a breach of a court records platform operated by its C-Track subsidiary exposed sealed court information and sensitive personal data. The company discovered unauthorized access on June 30 and said it may include names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license details, medical information, dates of birth, and health insurance data. It offered 12 months of credit monitoring and identity theft protection, after being told access may have run from March through June.
