US Accuses Turkish Intermediary of Helping Transfer Boeing Aircraft to Iran's Mahan Air

OFAC designated Izmir-based Sky Phoenix, saying it acted as an intermediary with UAE firm ECT Aviation Support LLC in transferring three U.S.-origin Boeing B-777 aircraft to Iran’s Mahan Air. The planes were diverted through the UAE and Oman before the summer 2026 transfer, with S Sistem and Mes Cargo also sanctioned. Mahan Air continues flying despite the U.S. sanctions, which target Iran’s aviation sector.
