URI professors’ AI startup team joins AMD to develop FastFlowLM software

FastFlowLM’s founders from URI and Clemson—Ken Qing Yang and colleagues—have joined California-based semiconductor company AMD. The team brings software for efficient large-language-model inference on NPUs, supporting up to half a million tokens. After protection discussions and AMD onboarding, the founders and their group joined AMD’s AI Group while maintaining ties to the open-source developer community.
