Universal EV Production System Enables Faster Ford Fathom Assembly at LAP
Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant is being transformed from gas-vehicle production to a fully electric facility for the midsize truck Ford Fathom. The UEV Production System builds the vehicle as three structural sections—front clip, rear clip, and battery—so multiple operators can work simultaneously. Ford says the setup supports assembly 40% faster, with reinvested time into insourcing, automation, and quality and cost improvements.
