United plans to begin A321XLR international service on Dec. 1, 2026, from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin, using the aircraft to serve smaller European markets and expand its transatlantic network. The airline expects enough A321XLR deliveries to support broader European expansion in summer 2027, replacing older 757s and adding routes that may be exclusive among U.S. carriers.
