Unilever backs mangrove restoration in Ecuador under Living Gulf program
In Ecuador, Conservation International Ecuador and Unilever are launching the Living Gulf project to protect at least 30,000 hectares of mangroves and restore an additional 2,600 hectares in the Gulf of Guayaquil. The effort is designed to strengthen biodiversity, climate resilience, and coastal livelihoods, benefiting about 3,000 people while tackling mangrove loss linked to shrimp farming.
