A patent portfolio defining how AI-generated music can be created, licensed and monetized has gone to market via UMG-backed Music IP Holdings (MIH). CEO Daniel Drolet says it targets responsible innovation, strengthening artist, songwriter and rightsholder protections and enabling creators to generate and track AI revenue streams with proper credit and payment. MIH says the patents cover broader AI derivatives and support licensing efforts with Udio and remixing app Hook.
