UK Parliamentary Committee urges CMA to investigate Live Nation’s market power
A UK Parliament committee urged the Competition and Markets Authority to open a full market investigation into competition in the live music industry before end-2026. It called for scrutiny of ticketing, venue access, resale restrictions and data control, citing evidence of serious concerns involving Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster. The committee noted Live Nation controlled 58% of UK tickets in 2025, rising to 66% with affiliates, and that some submissions were anonymous over fears of reprisals.
