Uber Lays Off 10% of Staff in Restructuring and Hybrid Policy Changes
Uber is laying off about 10% of its workforce, roughly 3,300 jobs, as it reorganizes to operate simpler and faster. Chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi said revenue nearly tripled in five years but added layers and fragmented ownership. About 20% of rank-and-file workers seven or more layers below will be affected, and most remote staff are being asked to relocate to offices while a three-days-a-week hybrid policy remains.
