Uber CTO Praveen Neppalli Naga said the company shifted after “tokenmaxxing” incentives pushed employees to use AI tools like Claude Code, including through usage leaderboards. He described improving prompt caching, changing default model settings, and evaluating more efficient models, resulting in lower per-token costs despite rising adoption.
