UAW Members Vote Against Extending John Deere Contract
UAW members voted against extending their contract with Deere & Company, leaving the current agreement in place through October 2027 and pushing both sides back to negotiations then. Deere said it sought added stability, but demand remains below 2021 levels, production at key Iowa and Quad Cities plants runs under half volume, and about 1,200 production employees are on layoff despite raised net income guidance to about $5 billion.
