A Chicago class-action law firm is investigating whether Tyson’s WARN arrangement for its 2,495-worker Joslin beef plant closing complies with the Act. Tyson says workers remain employed and are compensated through Oct. 12, while DOL guidance suggests substituting 60 days of pay can technically violate WARN unless wages and benefits continue. The state says Tyson filed the notice 30–60 minutes before employees were told.
