Trade minister says U.S. politicians misunderstand Coupang amid breach row
Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan argued that U.S. politicians have mischaracterized Coupang’s situation, amid protests over claims that Korean authorities treated the U.S.-headquartered e-commerce firm unfairly over a data breach affecting more than 33 million customers. He noted a letter from 54 House Republicans urging an end to discriminatory regulations and said Korea is working to keep any Section 301-related tariffs at the agreed 15% level.
