Toyota Profit Jumps 76% as It Recalls 508,354 US Vehicles
Net profit rose 76% to 1.48 trillion yen in fiscal Q1, with revenue up 10% as Toyota lifted full-year revenue and profit forecasts. The next week the automaker announced a recall of 508,354 US vehicles, including certain 2025-2026 Camry Hybrids, over an instrument cluster glitch that can disable hazard lights and turn signals. Toyota also cut its war-related profit drag estimate, authorized buybacks, and pushed ahead with EV battery work targeting solid-state production in 2027.
