Towngas Urges Green Methanol Support in Hong Kong’s 2026–2030 Plan
Hong Kong and China Gas has urged the government to strengthen the city’s first Five-Year Plan (2026–2030). In its submission, Towngas called for improvements to methanol bunkering infrastructure at the port, drawing on its green methanol investments. Its joint venture VENEX is developing a 200,000 mt/year bio-methanol plant in Guangdong for marine bunkering in Hong Kong, expected to start in 2028 and lift total capacity to about 500,000 mt/year with an existing Inner Mongolia facility.
