Tim Cook's Apple Legacy Marked by $879B Share Buybacks
Since Tim Cook became CEO, Apple shares have risen more than 2,700% including dividends. The board and Cook spent $878.5 billion since 2013 buying Apple shares each year, totaling about $879 billion as of Aug. 28 and reducing outstanding shares by 44.5%, a value larger than most S&P 500 companies’ market caps.
