Thyssenkrupp Pivots From Industrial Group to Financial Holding Model
Thyssenkrupp plans to reshape itself into a financial holding company, holding majority stakes rather than running its units directly. The earlier plan to sell 60% of its steel business to Jindal collapsed in May, prompting a pivot. A Steel Europe capital markets day is planned for late September, and Thyssenkrupp Steel took a Duisburg blast furnace offline for about six weeks of maintenance.
