Thyssenkrupp in talks to amend funding rules for €3bn Duisburg plant
Thyssenkrupp said it is in advanced talks to adjust the funding framework for its new €3 billion green steel plant in Duisburg due to a changed economic environment. Two thirds of funding from the German government and its home state was initially contingent on hydrogen use, now unrealistic. The European Commission approved amendments as compliant with EU state-aid rules, allowing prompt implementation.
