Thales and Kelly Hills deploy BVLOS network for agricultural drones in Kansas
Thales and Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems are deploying a beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) network in Kansas to expand agricultural drone operations. Funded by a USD 3 million Kansas Legislature contract, the system will support crop spraying, scouting, fertilising and seeding, using detect-and-avoid and airspace management infrastructure via Thales’ TopSky platform to enable safer extended-distance flights. The project is intended to scale across the US airspace system.
