Tesla recalls 2.98 million China vehicles over emergency door releases
Tesla is recalling 2.98 million vehicles in China, its largest recall there, after crash power loss may prevent occupants from accessing emergency door releases. Bloomberg linked the issue to at least 15 deaths across 12 fires and crashes. The remedy involves warning labels and a software update, while China requires mechanical releases on new vehicles from 2027 and existing models by 2029.
