Tesla Plans $1.44 Million Texas Construction as Cybercab Production Scales
Tesla plans a 538,720-square-foot Texas construction project estimated to cost $1.44 million. After saying in August it began operating a battery cathode plant at Gigafactory, Tesla expects to accelerate output of its 4680 cells to support Cybercab production. Tesla has not disclosed its plans for a Mustang Ridge facility. Ahead of the Cybercab launch, Tesla expects high-paying local jobs to reach about 30,000 by 2028, after Austin-area headcount fell 22% to 16,506 in 2025.
