Telecom Argentina has proposed that Metrotel acquire fixed infrastructure assets from Telefónica Móviles Argentina as a condition to win regulatory approval for Telecom’s planned $1.245 billion acquisition of Movistar in the country. Final competition authority approval is still pending. The fiber and fixed connectivity transfers are aimed at unlocking the deal, one of the largest in Argentina’s telecom sector.
