Tata Steel Nederland has applied to the North Holland North Environmental Service for an updated nature permit covering its IJmuiden steel production site. The update is driven by Dutch nitrogen rule changes and a 2024 case-law ruling tightening nitrogen-offset requirements retroactive to 2020.
