Tata Steel Gets Interim Relief on ₹1,755 Crore Jharkhand Mining Demand
Tata Steel received interim relief in the ₹1,755-crore demand notice issued by Jharkhand’s District Mining Office, Ramgarh. The company challenged the notice alleging excess coal extraction of 16.24 million tonnes at the West Bokaro Colliery between 2000-01 and 2006-07, and the revisional authority admitted its revision, directing respondents not to take coercive steps during the pendency. Tata Steel also plans to invest ₹11,000 crore in Jharkhand for advanced-grade steel at Jamshedpur.
