Tarsus Completes Alkeus Acquisition, Advancing Phase 3 Stargardt Oral Drug
Tarsus Pharmaceuticals has completed its acquisition of Alkeus Pharmaceuticals, adding gildeuretinol (ALK-001), a once-daily oral Phase 3 investigational medicine targeting toxic vitamin A dimerization in the retina for Stargardt disease, which has no FDA-approved therapy. Stargardt is estimated to affect up to 86,000 people in the U.S. Tarsus also expands its pipeline with additional ocular and infectious disease candidates in Phase 2 and investigational stages.
