Target plans to open eight new stores this fall across Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, building on more than 30 planned for 2026. In Tupelo, the first local Target will be about 148,000 square feet with roughly 200 associates, Drive Up, order pickup, and delivery, plus CVS Pharmacy and a Starbucks Café. The company also has seven supply chain facilities in the state and will add its 62nd Virginia store.
