Tamboran nears gas production start as Australia supply risks grow
The Australian Energy Market Operator warns declining southern gas output could create east-coast supply risks from 2030, with new gas, storage and transport investment needed. Tamboran’s Shenandoah South Pilot is contracted to supply about 40 terajoules per day under a fixed-price, inflation-linked take-or-pay deal for nine years. Its Shenandoah South 6H well delivered a basin record, with an initial rate of 10.3 million cubic feet per day, normalised to 11.9 million.
